Warm Cinnamon Rolls in the Morning…

Who doesn’t love a warm, gooey cinnamon roll? I picked these up from Cinnaholic, which just recently opened up on the west side of Las Vegas. Pair this incredible gourmet treat with a nice strong cup of coffee and take them outside to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the morning in your backyard, and you don’t need any excuse to just enjoy what nature is giving you.

Holla for The Halal Guys

The great thing about Las Vegas, is everybody wants to open a restaurant here…but how long it stays serving customers is tricky, because there is always another new concept entering the market. But for the world famous Halal Guys, they have strategically waited for the right time to fling open their doors.  The preview event for the Vegas Foodies was an evening to remember with a great staff and the menu items we have all been waiting for. Do yourself the honors or checking them out in ChinaTown soon.

Taco Tuesdays

You’re at work and suddenly your phone goes crazy with Instagram notifications, and then you realize it’s Tuesday…that means “Taco Tuesday” all over the city. But which place to go? A few of the Vegas Foodies were invited to check out Me Gusta Tacos, located at the District at Green Valley Ranch. The taco variety was incredible and I held onto enough burritos to put me through the rest of the week.

I really thought the fresh fruit agua fresca’s were not only colorful, but equally flavorful. Next time you’re doing a little shopping in Hendertucky, check out this great place for a snack (or an entire meal for your fam bam).

Leftovers

Admit it, many times you are at home and swing open the ‘fridge looking for something to eat. There’s a lot of leftovers from previous meals, but you don’t know what to do with them. I’m the same way, but fortunately I do enjoy creating new things from old things. When I go grocery shopping, I ofter plan a meal to create on the weekend for dinner…then think what I can make with the leftovers the next day for lunch.

Voila! this is a delicious grilled chicken sandwich on a toasted ciabatta roll I made using bacon, lettuce, tomato, smoked gouda, cucumber (for added crunch) guacamole and a bourbon BBQ sauce dripping all down the sides.  Toss in a few BBQ chips and a pickle, and your leftovers won’t seem bland ever again.

Easy Cooking on the Weekends

Summertime usually means lighter eating…I mean, who wants to waste the gorgeous weekend sunlight hours worrying what to make for dinner? That is why I enjoy creating light and appetizing dishes that don’t rob me of my weekend pool time.

This grilled chicken is set atop spaghetti pasta with sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Making your own sauce is ideal, especially when you use organic ingredients.  Enjoy with a nice glass (or bottle) of Pinot Noir, and you can have a delicious weekend meal that looks (and tastes) good enough to share with friends.
